Our Clients

We have been privileged to work with many clients, including the following:

A Leading Telecommunications Company
With a goal of becoming the largest mobile telecommunications operator in the Caribbean and Central America, our client wanted to develop a world class IT infrastructure that would support the easy rollout of their products and services. The challenge was to identify and provide a host of solutions that would meet these multiple requirements, ranging from database management to business intelligence. ABSL collaborated with the client to identify several enterprise class solutions, including those from Oracle and SAP BusinessObjects, as well as their potential benefits. Through our alliance partners, ABSL provisioned these solutions which allowed the client to develop an IT infrastructure throughout the region capable of sustaining over one million subscribers.

A Leading Financial Company

Our client was looking to implement the next generation of their Business Intelligence and reporting platform, BusinessObjects XI. The challenges were to upgrade the existing reporting platform and reports to the new reporting environment. We performed an assessment of their current reporting platform and developed an implementation plan.

The major initiatives included installation of the new platform, BusinessObjects XI, migration of reports, knowledge transfer and training. The entire project was completed within a month, allowing the client to improve their reporting process while simultaneously benefiting from the new features and functionality available in BusinessObjects XI .

A Statutory Corporation

Our client is responsible for the development of Jamaica's Port and Shipping Industry. They wanted to implement a system that could meet their varied information needs for their Port and Free zone operations. The goal was to enhance the ability to capture required information and to make it easily accessible for executive and operational management. The challenge was to design the system so that the information requirements of the different entities could be met.

We conducted an analysis of the current business processes in order to get a better understanding of the operations of the different entities utilizing Oracle’s AIM Methodology. The major initiatives included designing the Chart of Accounts so as to meet the varied information needs as well as streamlining the data capture and flow from the Sub Ledgers to the General Ledger. One of the major hurdles was to integrate Oracle Payables with the existing Purchasing/Inventory System in order to achieve seamless matching of Purchase Orders to Invoices. Five modules from the Oracle Financials suite were implemented over a fifteen month period covering three business entities.

The client was able to manage their payables and receivables in a much more efficient manner due to the improved quality of information as well as reduce the time taken for the monthly closing process. Client was satisfied that the major initiatives identified had been achieved and is in the process of reorganizing their back office operations to achieve greater efficiency.

A Leading Manufacturing and Distribution Company
Our client operates a diverse set of business operations, encompassing everything from Manufacturing of food products to Distribution of Pharmaceuticals to Financial Services. Although the business is itself diverse, the main challenge was to improve the company’s operations across the entire enterprise and integrate people and information such that new business processes are much more transparent, efficient and cost effective.

Utilizing Oracle’s AIM Methodology, Oracle Financials was implemented in Phase I for all the entities while Supply Chain and Manufacturing was implemented in Phase II. The major initiatives included integration and reconciliation with the legacy system before Phase II was implemented. The client is starting to realize the benefits of an integrated system as there is more transparency.
There are some challenges as it relates to the change management process and they are currently looking to enhance their reporting by putting in a business intelligence reporting tool.
